Soup Restaurant

Singapore's famed Soup Restaurant can now be found in Jakarta too. It prides itself as the house of Chinatown heritage cuisine, Soup Restaurant offers a wide variety of Chinese style herbal soup. Not only that, they have other dishes (rice, noodles, beef, chicken, vegetables, etc) on the menu too for a hearty meal with family, friends or colleagues. Contrary to popular belief, the patrons are not exclusively Chinese, in fact the variety of crowds shows that the food are Halal.

I'm not exactly into Chinese herbal soup, so I didn't order it. Instead, we ordered the following to share:

Teochew Olive Rice IDR 35.000
The Teo Chew Olive Rice smelled like truffle (yum!)

Cay Po Omelette IDR 35.000

Pocai with Enoki in Oyster Sauce IDR 45.000

Minced Beef Tofu IDR 35.000

And here comes the dessert moment! Each of us ordered Gui Ling Gao, White Fungus Soup with Almond Pear and White Fungus Soup with Ginkgo. I've had better White Fungus Soup elsewhere, so this one didn't really leave much impression, even though I still liked it and emptied my bowl =P
