Breakfast at Ketjil Kitchen, SCBD

Ketjil Kitchen is a little gem tucked in the midst of bustling SCBD (Sudirman Central Business District). It is located inside the Grand Lucky Superstore compound, so it's a one-stop shopping/dining compound. This is a plus point because you can park your car right outside Ketjil Kitchen and should you wish to do some groceries shopping after your meal, a superstore is just a few steps away.

The interior is adorned with vintage decorations from electronic appliances, magazines, posters and other knick knack that remind you of the good-ol-days. The place is actually quite small, but didn't feel claustrophobic. I guess this was the effect from the kitchen-like setting, as we're all used to the concept of mommy's crammed kitchen.

The sort of food served here is homey comfort food, both western (eg: Croque Madam, My Ribeye Steak, etc) and Indonesian dishes (eg: Fried Oxtail Soup, Nasi Rames Bibi, etc). There's a fridge specially dedicated to store home-cooked desserts like Apple Crumble, Puddings, etc.

From the two visits I made (one at tea-time and one at breakfast), the food served were consistently good, proportionate to the price. My champion is the Chicken Crema Mushroom, which is a healthy and balanced combination of carbohydrates (from the grilled baguette slice and diced potatoes sprinkled with tangy dill herbs), protein (from the sunny-side-up fried egg and creamy grilled chicken), and fibers (from the salad and mushroom). Perfecto! My only regret was not having tried the curious dessert =( Will I be back? You can count on that ;)
