Another Face of Jakarta: Passer Baroe

Passer Baroe since 1820...
Is always busy...
Where you can find cheap knock-off goods at steal bargains
Indian-community dominated fabric shops...
Cheap underground services (sewing, alterations, borders, etc)
Purchase your salon and beauty supplies, etc
and of course, the street treats!
Kue Cubit, Gorengan, and a lot more!...(fyi, 'cubit' means pinch)
Be warned though...
(translation of the sign: beware of proposals offering free vouchers that will end up with fraud / hypnotism)
Passer Baroe (literally means new market) is where old and new things can be found; My (shopping) hunting ground since primary school days. The meandering & narrow alleyways conceal many great finds for those seeking, you just have to be here to see for yourself, the throbbing pulse, all in the name of entreprenurial spirit...
