It's unbelievable how time flies! It's almost a year ago that I came to Sydney to start a new chapter of my life. This winter, I don't feel the trepidation navigating unfamiliar streets and adjusting to the cold weather. Everything seems to be beautifully in place...I can't stop to feel grateful for surviving the first year here... And so my thought wandered, as I physically meandered through stone pavement and made my way to Creperie Suzette.
Creperie Suzette is located next to Harbour Rocks Hotel Sydney, at the heart of one of Sydney's icons, The Rocks. It's a small but cosy corner shop that has a dedicated take away booth, which is great for those who are rushing but needs that warm cup of cafe on the go. But if you have more time to spare, there are ample spaces inside. Round, off-white marble tables with traditional bentwood chair adorns the interior, on each sat a jar of what looks like morning glory flowers.
The menu at Creperie Suzette is written with chalk on the wall behind the counter, so that saves the need to print fancy menu book, and I believe allows more flexibility to change the items according to the season! One could choose either the savoury galettes or sweet crêpes and my eyes were stuck to one item that's rather unique: La Pekinoise - grilled peking duck, spring onion, mature cheddar cheese and hoisin sauce.

While waiting for the galette, we enjoyed our coffee (mine's a mocha, as always) and chatted about living in Sydney. How it's a love and hate (mostly love though) relationship: love the beautiful and mildly temperate weather, the beaches and the mountains, the parks and the skyscrapers, but hate the high living cost. If we work hard, surviving is not difficult, but to be rich, that may require harder work and a streak of luck (I guess).
Lastly for dessert, we had La Caramel au Beurre Salé - sweet & soft crêpe with salted caramel, slivered almonds and vanilla ice cream.

Sydney, you never fail to lift my mood! Just when I started to (almost) give in to the end of semester's assignment load, a quick stroll around the beautiful CBD and a nourishing brunch at The Rocks lifted up my mood and inspired me to write the last 2,000 words essay. Hallelujah!
