Artichoke and black truffle soup, layered brioche with mushrooms and truffles (tasting portion) |
Next, we got to sample another signature dish here: Soupe d’artichaut à la truffe noire, brioche feuilletée aux champignons et truffes which means Artichoke and black truffle soup, layered brioche with mushrooms and truffles. French and English are quite similar, non? Alors, j'aime cette soupe bien! It was easily the best artichoke-based dish I've ever had. Due to the strong truffle scent, I had almost mistaken it for mushroom soup, but upon further dissecting the flavour, I realized that there's a certain tanginess to it, that's typical of artichokes. I truly relished in the layered brioche that's so rich, it was dripping with (hopefully) truffle oil. Basically anything that has truffle, will win me over, hands down, case closed.
