TeSaTe Pacific Place

Hello again! It's been too long since my last blog post and I miss writing so much already! Sorry for the hiatus, my laptop had a technical glitch and I sent it for repair at the service center. So I passed the days and a weekend without my laptop around, it actually feels very weird and I feel like something's missing from my life. Well, at least I still have my tablet to keep me company, but still it feels different...

Oh well, that's just a little bit about my lack of update the past week, so now I'm back, alive and kicking and I'm going to share with you, about TeSaTe Restaurant. It was first opened in Plaza Senayan a few years back, but it was not until the 3rd branch, that I made a visit to TeSaTe and now I totally regret it, because I've missed such a good Indonesian restaurant!! My loss... *sobs

Traditional is still the best cooking method

TeSaTe is a sister brand of Sate Khas Senayan and Sate Khas Express chain of restaurants, but it is a more premium class than the former brands. If not everyone is familiar with TeSaTe, they will surely recognize the iconic Sate Khas Senayan, which outlets can be found almost everywhere in Jakarta and in a few other satellite towns.

Anyway, better be late than never, right? Recently I visited the restaurant at Pacific Place recently and had a meal in one of the 3 spacious VIP rooms, each of those have different capacities ranging from 10-25 pax. The VIP rooms are located at a different side of the restaurant than the main dining area, so even if it is not entirely closed, your privacy is still guaranteed. Have a look inside:

This is the kind of place that I imagine, would host various corporate functions or events, such as lunch / dinner meetings, celebrations, etc. Pacific Place is surrounded by premium office buildings and high end residential anyway and is strategically located at the heart of SCBD. The rest of the restaurant is a spacious area with high ceiling and minimalistic modern furniture...

Pretty soon after making our orders, the food started to come and boy, do they look seriously mouthwatering!

So, here's a more detailed look of the food that we ordered:
Tahu Udang Berontak - prawn & mushrooms-stuffed inside fried tofu

Tahu Udang Berontak IDR 64,000

Sayur Lodeh - Indonesian soup / stew of long beans, tempeh, kikil (beef tendon), stink beans in milky coconut broth.
Iga Sapi Paniki - premium beef ribs, slow cooked and served with stir-fried tripe, chili and herbs.

*burp, oops! I didn't expect to food to come in such generous portion, that even a few of us couldn't finish them all and had to ask for take away (I hate wasting food) and had to skip the dessert. So, although the price may look steep compared to its competitors, actually the balance is compensated in the portion. TeSaTe is thus perfect for sharing with a large group of friends / colleagues. But fret not, if you happen to come here alone, there's actually a few Mixed Rice combo on the menu (rice and a few side dishes in smaller portion, enough for 1 person). I shall definitely look forward to coming back again in the near future :)
