Bottega Ristorante (not to be mistaken with Bottega in Napa Valley and it's unrelated with the Italian luxury goods brand), is an original Italian concept brought to you by the same people behind Wilshire Jakarta.
If you're looking for an Italian restaurant in Jakarta, but with a little adventurous flair with the food and yet still feels posh and refined, Bottega offers just the right balance of all that. The predominantly black exterior as well as mosaic tiles on the floor, tables and even walls, create a unique interior for the eyes to enjoy. The venue itself, while may be rather inconvenient for those who drive themselves (from the parking lot to the restaurant requires one to exit the office building's main lobby and walk a little bit). It's a rewarding walk though, once one enters the restaurant's outdoor seating areas, looks lovely and inviting to sit at.
Inside the restaurant, there's a bar (for smoking guests) to the right and with one sweep of a look, the entire restaurant is mapped out before you.
Starting from the drinks, one can already tell that they're quite bold in experimenting with the flavours. The Strawberry Cheese Cake mocktail, is a stuff that makes up a child's dream with liberal use of sugar-packed toppings as well as thick and flavour-packed liquid. Even the cocktail, such as Toblerone infused vodka 'Snow White' couldn't help not to show off its tall dollop of whipped cream, and overflowing toppings.

Bottega Ristorante had recently added some menus to its current one. The Menu offers Eggs based dishes (perfect for breakfast), Appetizers, Main Courses, Pasta & Risotto, Panini and Dessert. Some of the dishes are traditionally Italian, but for the more adventurous guests, you should try the Chicken Rendang Spaghetti (also one of my personal favourite), a truly delectable combination of traditional Indonesian meat stew recipe with Italian noodles.
Also, would you expect to find Gyros at an Italian restaurant? Nowhere else would you find that, other than here, the Chicken Gyros with Rice Pilaf and Pita Chips certainly seem interesting. If you're looking for something healthy and still taste good, try the Mesclun Salad with gorgonzola cheese, candied cashews and tossed in honey mustard balsamic dressing, it's vegetarian friendly too!.

If you love pasta & risotto, Bottega's creative inventions will surely get you confused as to what to order. But for me, I follow what my taste buds love most: Truffle and there are plenty of dishes infused with truffle at Bottega.

One of Bottega's signature dessert is the Leche Frita, which directly means fried milk. It's like solid milk 'cake', coated with flour and fried, topped with pistachio crumbs and served with sweet condensed milk. I kinda like to think it as Italian's version of 'kue'. The new dessert, Choco Caramel Crater, with piping hot caramel is also quite a playful dessert to be enjoyed with friends (too guilty to be finished alone).
