How About Spending New Year's Eve with The Beatles?

Urbanites living in the city, what else can we do but to spend the weekends in the shopping malls? But for some of us who want to escape the shopping mall ritual, Jakarta's hotels make really nice alternative to spend quality time with the family. Especially since most hotels nowadays have weekend stay promotion such as the one I stayed in last week, JS Luwansa & Convention Centre in Kuningan. Currently there's an ongoing promotion which entitles guests who pay for 2 weekend nights (Friday -Sunday) to return and stay another weekend free for 2 nights*). It's like pay 2 for 4 weekend nights, that's a great deal right?

As a business hotel, JS Luwansa has perpetually high occupancy level on weekdays, but on the weekends, the hotel is not as packed and thus suitable for those who seek a quiet weekend getaway. I think you'd agree with me that staying in a busy hotel is not really pleasant because, as in any service industry, normally the quality deteriorates with the high occupancy rate.

Here are some photos that I took when I stayed at JS Luwansa, in the King Premier Room (Premier room with a King sized bed) which is located at one end of the corridor for extra privacy. All Premier Room guests (and larger rooms) are entitled to access the Ambassador Club, which gives privileges such as late check-out up to 2PM (subject to availability), Afternoon Tea with Snacks at Ambassador Club (from 3:30 – 5.30 PM), Evening Cocktails with Hors d'oeuvres (from 6 – 8 PM) and a handful of other exclusive privileges. For those who cannot live without Internet, great news for you, as all rooms at JS Luwansa can access the free hotel wi-fi and the speed is just as good as that at home.

So now, on to the New Year's Eve celebration, this post's title mentioned about The Beatles. Indeed I did, and no, I'm not talking about watching their recorded concerts or video clips together, but rather, a group of 4 Indonesians who duplicate this legendary band under their stage name: G-Pluck. If you, or your parents, family, friends or colleagues are fans of The Beatles, you might want to buy this as a Christmas / New Year gift. It's definitely more memorable and unique than sending food or goodie hampers.

On the 31st December 2013, G-Pluck will croon The Beatles' favourite songs to accompany you towards the Old & New Countdown Party**) at JS Luwansa. The way the show is packaged, is like a concert but with dining privileges, music entertainment in the comfort of the hotel grand ballroom, and an after party at the infinity pool. Tickets start from IDR 250,000 up to IDR 1,000,000++ (see below for detailed price breakdown).

But of course, it would be much more convenient to crash at the hotel rooms once the After-Party is over right? I've checked the price for you and the rate to stay at JS Luwansa from 31 Dec - 1 Jan starts from IDR 2,420,000 up to IDR 3,025,000 for Deluxe up to Premier Room (already inclusive taxes and complimentary breakfast for 2 pax). I'm not sure if larger rooms are still available for that night or how much they would cost, so it would be best to inquire the hotel directly.

So, get ready to sing "I Want To hold Your Hand" at the top of your lungs in a few weeks, peeps! =)
