If you think that mid-week is always a total drone and drudgery, with nothing to look forward to except for ladies' night (even that promo is only valid for half of the population), I have a good news for you. On every Wednesdays, Huize Van Wely at The Papilion Kemang has a Buffet Lunch Promotion that you can look forward to. The buffet theme changes every week, so far it's done Indonesian, Western and Japanese buffet, that features a live cooking station.
Entering The Papilion building is always a treat to the senses, the modern, bright and light interior is soothing to the sight and the soft Christmas-y music playing in the background makes one want to spend all day here. Here are some photos inside Huize Van Wely on the ground floor of The Papilion.
When I visited Huize last Wednesday, they were having Japanese Buffet, so everything was Japanese from appetizers to dessert. But of course, something to always look forward to when eating here, is the complimentary bun and butter. You must not skip this one, because the imported Huize Van Wely Dutch butter is one of the most luscious butter I've ever tasted. And my opinion is actually seconded by my fellow foodie, Hans, who's been here too and tried the Indonesian themed buffet lunch, click here to see his review.
So, here's what I had for lunch, thank you to the kind staff who helped me to arrange and pick the food from the station. Somehow I can never arrange my food this nicely when eating buffet. *sigh

The good thing about Huize's buffet is that the variety is sufficiently varied but not overwhelming, so you could actually try each and every one of the food served, even come back for second or third helpings. But the one thing that you must not miss if definitely the exquisite dessert and cakes. Huize is after all, a famous Patissier, Chocolatier, Glacier and Bistro from the Netherlands. The petite cakes are part of the buffet, you could inquire the staff for which cakes are included. For the Japanese Buffet lunch, they served mini dessert platters comprising Mochi, Green tea Choux and mini Dorayaki. The Green tea choux was absolutely delish and exquisite, I shamelessly returned for more of this bite-sized treat LOL.

Buffet Lunch at Huize Van Wely is available every Wednesdays 11.30AM - 3 PM, and is priced at IDR 250,000 nett.
So, besides the Buffet Lunch, Huize Van Wely is also prepped up for Christmas, such as the exquisite Christmas hampers and Gingerbread House. The Gingerbread House is the size of a miniature house and it can last for weeks, and still edible because it is basically a biscuit that needs no chilling. So it is not only edible, but also could make a nice Christmas decoration for your home. I think it will fit perfectly beside your miniature decorated pine tree at home, don't you think?
